card Repair Specialist
The Mint Workshop helps collectors preserve and improve the presentation of valuable trading cards through careful, transparent restoration and repair. We treat every order like it’s a grail and prioritize consistency, documentation, and safe handling.
You’ll work hands-on repairing and restoring trading cards with a focus on precision, repeatability, and clear documentation. Typical work includes:
- Edge repair & raised edge correction (alignment, smoothing, stabilization)
- Corner work (minor reshaping/stabilization)
- Surface cleaning and safe cosmetic improvement (no shortcuts)
- Dent/indent reduction (when applicable and appropriate)
- Reviewing incoming orders and matching each card to its work order
- Photographing before/after and recording notes for internal tracking
- Packaging finished cards to strict protection standards (sleeves, semi-rigids, team bags, etc.)
- Following defined SOPs so results are consistent across the team
What We’re Looking For
- You’re detail-obsessed and can spot defects quickly (edge lift, corner stress, pressure marks, surface scuffs)
- You can work slowly and methodically—no rushing
- You communicate clearly and document your work
- You have experience with one or more:
Card restoration/repair
Print finishing, paper conservation, archival work
Model/miniature restoration
Jewelry/watch/precision craft work - Comfort working with collectors’ high-value items and maintaining strict chain-of-custody
Requirements
- Demonstrable manual dexterity and steady hands
- Ability to follow a process exactly and meet quality standards
- Willingness to complete a short skills test (sample cards)
- Background check optional depending on role and value-handling
Junior Card Restorer (Training Provided)
This role is for someone with great hands and attention to detail. You don’t need years of card restoration experience—we’ll train the right person.
Responsibilities
- Cleaning and prep work (intake, sorting, labeling, safe handling)
- Entry-level repairs under supervision
- Before/after photo capture and job notes
- Packing, labeling, and shipping processes

Remote Card Restoration Contractor (Mail-In Workflow)
Overview
We’re expanding and looking for a skilled restorer to complete assigned repair batches. You’ll receive cards from us, complete repairs, document results, and ship them back.
Requirements (Remote)
- A controlled, clean workspace with consistent lighting for photo documentation
- Proven experience working with valuable collectibles
- Ability to follow our SOPs and quality checks
- Strong packaging standards and secure return shipping practices
Workflow
- We assign batches with required services
- You document before/after and provide notes per card
- Cards are returned with strict packaging requirements
- Quality is reviewed; consistent performance = larger batches + higher pay
