TERMS OF SERVICE

The Mint Workshop Inc.
Last Updated: October 24, 2026

1. ACCEPTANCE OF TERMS (LEGALLY BINDING AGREEMENT)

By accessing our website, placing an order, or submitting any card(s) to The Mint Workshop Inc. (“Company,” “we,” “us”), you affirmatively agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”).

If you do not agree, you must not use our Services.

Your use of our Services constitutes a legally binding agreement, including a valid electronic signature under the New Jersey Uniform Electronic Transactions Act and the federal Electronic Signatures in Global and National Commerce Act.

2. SERVICES PROVIDED

We provide cosmetic restoration and enhancement services for collectible trading cards, including but not limited to:

  • Surface cleaning and defect reduction
  • Edge and corner improvement
  • Crease and dent minimization
  • Flattening and de-warping
  • Cosmetic presentation improvements

We do not provide:

  • Grading
  • Authentication
  • Appraisals
  • Any guarantee of grading outcomes or value

We are not affiliated with any grading company or manufacturer. On request, we submit restored cards to CGC for grading through a third-party CGC dealer account. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting as an agent of CGC, and CGC alone decides the grade.

We use non-destructive methods only: we do not trim, add ink, recolor, or apply varnish. We cannot repair whitening (paper and ink loss), chipping or missing paper, water stains, ink or marker, or factory miscuts, and we do not rebuild cards.

3. CUSTOMER REPRESENTATIONS & DISCLOSURES

By submitting cards, you represent and warrant that:

  • You are the legal owner or authorized agent
  • The card is genuine to your knowledge
  • You have disclosed all known defects and prior alterations

You agree to disclose:

  • Prior restoration
  • Water or chemical exposure
  • Heat damage
  • Structural issues

Failure to disclose material information voids any claims against us.

4. DECLARED VALUE & LIABILITY CAP

You must provide a Declared Value for each card.

This value:

  • Must be accurate and in good faith
  • Is used for handling and insurance considerations
  • Sets the maximum liability cap

STRICT LIABILITY LIMITATION

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

👉 Our total liability is limited to the LESSER of:

  • The declared value of the card
  • The amount paid for the service

We are never liable for:

  • Market value changes
  • Grading outcomes
  • Lost profits or resale opportunities
  • Sentimental value
  • Indirect or consequential damages

CLAIMS DEDUCTIBLE

Every approved claim for loss of or damage to submitted property while in our possession is subject to a deductible of $250 per claim. The deductible applies however the payable amount is determined, whether under these Terms, any other policy of The Mint Workshop Inc., or through our insurance carrier, and is subtracted from that amount. A single claim may include one or more cards from the same order. If the amount payable before the deductible is $250 or less, no payment is issued. If any other term, policy, or document conflicts with this section, this section controls as to the deductible.

VALUATION OF LOSS OR DAMAGE CLAIMS — MARKET VALUE AT INTAKE

Any approved claim for loss of or damage to a card while in our possession is valued at the card's fair market value as of the date the card was received by The Mint Workshop Inc. (“intake”), assessed in the card's actual condition and quality at intake, as documented by our intake records, scans, and photographs.

Fair market value and condition for claim purposes are determined by The Mint Workshop Inc.'s insurance carrier, not by The Mint Workshop Inc. and not by the customer.

Any change in a card's market value after the intake date — including appreciation, market movement, increased demand, or comparable sales occurring after intake — is disregarded for all claim purposes, regardless of the card's value at the time a claim is filed, reviewed, or paid.

👉 The amount payable for any card is the LESSER of:

  • The card's fair market value at intake, in its intake condition, as determined by our insurance carrier
  • The declared value the customer provided for that card

The declared value is a ceiling, not a guaranteed payout. If a customer declares a value lower than the card's actual worth, payment will not exceed the declared value. If a customer declares a value higher than the card's fair market value at intake, payment will not exceed the fair market value at intake. The Claims Deductible above is then subtracted from the amount payable.

For claims of loss of or damage to cards while in our possession, this section controls how the payable amount is determined, and controls over any other provision of these Terms, including the Strict Liability Limitation above, to the extent of any conflict.

5. RESTORATION RISKS & ASSUMPTION OF RISK

5.1 Irreversible Process

Restoration is experimental, subjective, and irreversible.

5.2 No Guarantees

We make no guarantees regarding:

  • Visual results
  • Structural outcomes
  • Defect removal
  • Grading or value

5.3 Hidden & Pre-Existing Issues

Cards may contain unseen defects that may:

  • Worsen
  • Become visible
  • React unpredictably

5.4 Potential Negative Outcomes

Restoration may result in:

  • New or worsened creases, bends, or warping
  • A visible scar wherever the card was creased. Creases always leave one, and grading companies will almost always detect it.
  • Surface defects (including pinholes, impressions, texture changes)
  • Gloss or print inconsistencies
  • Structural weakening
  • Reduced grading eligibility or value

5.5 Drying & Environmental Effects

Cards:

  • May not be fully dried upon return
  • May change over time due to environment
  • May shift, curve, or warp after delivery

We are not responsible for post-delivery changes.

5.6 Assumption of Risk

You explicitly:

  • Accept all risks
  • Agree results may be worse than original condition
  • Proceed entirely at your own risk

6. SHIPPING & RISK OF LOSS

We offer a prepaid FedEx 2Day label for $35, round trip, emailed within 1 business day of checkout. FedEx Priority Overnight ($90 total) is required when your declared total is $15,000 or more with Cabrella insurance.

You may instead use your own carrier, with tracking. A $20 return shipping fee applies.

If you use your own carrier, you are responsible for:

  • Shipping method
  • Packaging
  • Insurance

Except as covered by Cabrella insurance purchased with our prepaid label, we are not responsible for:

  • Incoming shipment damage or loss

Return shipments are insured by The Mint Workshop Inc. Our responsibility for a return shipment ends upon carrier-confirmed delivery.

Without Cabrella insurance, inbound shipments are covered only by the carrier, up to $100. Cabrella shipping insurance is available only with our prepaid FedEx label, for US orders: it costs 1.5% of your declared value, covers up to $25,000 per package, and carries a $250 deductible per claim. Return shipments are insured by The Mint Workshop Inc. Claims are valued as described in Section 4.

7. CONDITION DOCUMENTATION & MEDIA USE

We may photograph or record cards for:

  • Documentation

You grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use anonymized images unless you opt out in writing before service.

8. TURNAROUND TIMES

Standard turnaround is currently 24–30 business days from when your cards arrive and are checked in. Creased cards add 7–10 business days. Expedited service is $49.99 per card with a 5–7 business day turnaround and is not available for creased cards.

All timelines are estimates only and not guaranteed.

Delays do not qualify for refunds or claims.

9. PRICING & PAYMENT

You agree to pay all fees, including:

  • Service costs
  • Shipping
  • Taxes

All payments are:
👉 Final and non-refundable once work begins

Orders may be cancelled within 24 hours of purchase, as described in our Refund & Cancellation Policy. Discounts and promotional codes cannot be combined.

10. STRICT NO OUTCOME CLAIMS

You agree that dissatisfaction based on:

  • Appearance
  • Remaining defects
  • New defects
  • Grading results
  • Value changes

does NOT constitute service failure

11. DISCLAIMER OF WARRANTIES

All services are provided “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE.”

We disclaim all warranties, including:

12. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY (REINFORCED)

24. ADDITIONAL RESTORATION, SHIPPING & CONDITION DISCLOSURES

Customer acknowledges and agrees that collectible card restoration, conservation, alteration, flattening, moisture treatment, pressing, cleaning, and cosmetic enhancement are subjective and inherently risky processes.

The Mint Workshop Inc. makes no representations or guarantees regarding whether any restoration, alteration, conservation, repair, or prior work performed on a card will or will not be detected, identified, rejected, disclosed, or noted by any grading company, authentication company, marketplace, auction house, buyer, or other third party.

Customer further acknowledges that restoration services may constitute alteration, modification, conservation, or repair under standards or definitions used by certain grading companies, collectors, marketplaces, or third parties.

Submission of a card for restoration does not guarantee:

  • Any grading improvement
  • Any specific numerical grade
  • Any authentication outcome
  • Any increase in market value
  • Any increase in desirability or eye appeal
  • Eligibility for grading or encapsulation

Cards may contain latent, hidden, or pre-existing defects including but not limited to prior restoration, moisture exposure, structural weakness, compression damage, delamination, print instability, ink lifting, paper fatigue, trimming, recoloring, or chemical exposure. The Mint Workshop Inc. is not responsible for failures, damage, or adverse outcomes resulting from pre-existing conditions or material instability.

Customers are solely responsible for properly packaging submissions and for deciding whether to purchase Cabrella insurance for the inbound trip. Improper packaging may void claims relating to transit damage.

The Mint Workshop Inc. is not responsible for cosmetic or incidental damage to sleeves, semi-rigid holders, toploaders, magnetic holders, binders, packaging materials, cases, or other accessories submitted with cards.

Our responsibility for outbound shipments ends upon carrier-confirmed delivery, including delivery scan, GPS confirmation, signature confirmation, or equivalent carrier proof of delivery.

Cards unpaid for or unclaimed for more than ninety (90) days after completion notice may be considered abandoned property. We reserve the right to charge storage fees, deny future service, or dispose of abandoned property in accordance with applicable law.

The Mint Workshop Inc. shall not be liable for delays, losses, or inability to perform services caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to carrier delays, weather events, natural disasters, power outages, equipment failure, labor shortages, governmental actions, or third-party service interruptions.

These Terms constitute the entire agreement between the parties and supersede all prior or contemporaneous communications, representations, discussions, understandings, marketing statements, or agreements, whether oral or written.
