Baseball Card Restoration. Vintage to modern.

From tobacco-era and 1950s cardboard to modern chrome rookies, we restore baseball cards with care for the stock they're printed on — including the wax and gum stains and curled cardboard that vintage collectors know too well.

Wax and gum stains

For decades, baseball cards were sold in wax-paper packs with a stick of gum. The wax could transfer onto the card, and the gum left pink or gray marks on whichever card it sat against. Those stains are one of the most common issues on vintage cards — and one of the things we remove.

Don't scrape it. Picking at wax or gum residue with a fingernail or blade can lift the paper surface underneath, turning a removable stain into permanent damage.

What we restore

Wax and gum stains

Pack wax and gum residue removed from the card surface.

Curled and wavy cards

Old cardboard that has curled or gone wavy from humidity and decades of storage, flattened back down.

Dirt and grime

Surface dirt and residue from shoeboxes, attics and decades of handling, cleaned off safely.

Creases and bends

Crease reduction is part of the full service. Creases can leave a scar, and we'll tell you if grading is a risk. See sports card crease repair.

Edges and corners

Lifted edges reattached, and corners softened by a slight bend improved, as long as they're not torn.

What we can't fix

  • Whitening and worn color
  • Chipping or missing paper
  • Water stains, ink or marker
  • Miscuts or rebuilding a card

What we never do

  • Trimming
  • Adding ink or recoloring
  • Varnish or coatings
  • Promising a grade

Why vintage needs care

Older baseball cards were printed on softer, more absorbent cardboard than modern cards. That stock reacts differently to moisture and pressure, and the wrong method can stain, wave or weaken it. We look at each card's era, stock and condition before choosing how to work on it. Modern chrome and glossy cards get their own approach — see our sports card restoration page.

How it works

  1. Submit online. Fill out the submission form. Each card's service tier is set by its value, and you'll see your price before checkout.
  2. Ship it. Use our prepaid FedEx 2Day label ($35 round trip) and add insurance for the trip to us. Each card goes in a top loader closed with a team bag.
  3. Intake. Your box is opened on video, counted against your order, and each card is scanned in and labeled before any work begins.
  4. Restoration and quality check. Every card is restored and checked before it leaves.
  5. Back to you. Insured return shipping with signature required. Follow every stage on your submission tracker.

Standard turnaround is 24–30 business days after check-in. Expedited service is $49.99 per card with a 5–7 business day turnaround (not available for creased cards).

Restoration and grading

After restoration, we can submit your cards to CGC through a third-party CGC dealer account: $30 per card, CGC's grading fee included, about two weeks at CGC. We're not affiliated with CGC.

Honest about grading: Graders are trained to spot alterations, and heavier repairs like crease reduction carry more risk of an "Altered" result. We'll tell you before work starts when that applies, so you decide.
