Each box is opened on video, counted against your order, and every card is scanned in and labeled before any work starts.

What we repair

  • Dirt, grime and "Pokémold." Tiny brown or black specks from moisture and storage clean off.
  • Light holo scratches and scuffs. Faint scratches on the holo can be polished away.
  • Creases. Crease reduction is part of the full service. Creases can leave a scar, and we'll tell you if grading is a risk.
  • Lifted corners and edges. We reattach edge lifts and delamination at corners and edges.
  • Soft corners from a slight bend, as long as they're not torn.

We don't fix whitening, chipping or missing paper, and we don't rebuild cards. We restore Pokémon, other TCGs and sports cards.

Apartment storage and your cards

NYC summers are humid, and a lot of collections live in closets, under beds or in storage units without climate control. Humidity is behind two of the problems we see most: Pokémold specks and layers starting to separate at the corners. If your binder smells musty or your cards feel slightly wavy, it's worth having them looked at before the damage spreads.

Quick fix at home: move cards out of damp spots, into sleeves and top loaders, and store them somewhere cool and dry. Don't wipe specks with water or try to glue lifted corners.

How it works

  1. Fill out the submission form. Each card's service tier is set by its value, and you'll see your price before checkout.
  2. Print the prepaid FedEx label we email you, and add insurance for your shipment.
  3. Put each card in a top loader closed with a team bag, include a printout of your order, and drop it at any FedEx location in the city.
  4. We document intake, restore your cards, and check every one before it ships back with signature required.

Can I drop off cards in person in NYC?

We work by mail, so every card goes through the same documented, recorded intake. Use the prepaid FedEx label and drop your package at any FedEx location.

Is shipping from NYC insured?

Yes. You can add insurance to your inbound shipment at checkout, and return shipping is insured through The Mint Workshop.

What if my cards are worth a lot?

For high-value submissions with insurance added, we ship overnight. The submission form shows the right option based on your declared value.

Can you send my cards for grading after?

Yes. We offer optional CGC grading through a third-party dealer account. The Mint Workshop isn't affiliated with CGC.

Do you serve Long Island, Westchester and New Jersey too?

Yes. We take mail-in orders from collectors across the United States. New Jersey collectors can see our New Jersey page.
